About the Organizer

The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh is a premier institution of higher education committed to academic excellence, innovation, research, and professional development. Its Faculty of Law offers B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. (Law) programmes.

The Faculty emphasizes practical legal training, advocacy skills, internships, legal aid activities, research, seminars, workshops, and professional development. About the Competition

The 2nd National Level Trial Advocacy Competition, 2026 is organised by the Moot Court Committee, Faculty of Law, The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh.

The Competition aims to provide law students with practical exposure to trial court proceedings while developing skills in:

• Trial advocacy

• Examination-in-chief

• Cross-examination

• Raising objections

• Appreciation of evidence

• Case strategy

• Courtroom etiquette

The Competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode. The Preliminary Round and Octa-Final Round will be held online, whereas the Quarter-Final Round, Semi-Final Round, Final Round, and Valedictory Ceremony will be conducted physically at The ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh.

Theme

Corporate Crime, Digital Evidence and Trial Advocacy in the Age of Technology

The proposition addresses contemporary criminal litigation involving:

• Corporate disputes

• Digital infrastructure

• Electronic evidence

• Forensic examination

• Criminal conspiracy

• Digital logs

• CCTV blackout

• Smart-room access

• Forensic toxicology

• Admissibility of electronic evidence

Eligibility

The Competition is open to students enrolled in:

• Three-Year LL.B. Programme at any recognised law institution.

• Five-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme at any recognised law institution.

The participating institution must be recognised by the Bar Council of India or any other competent authority.

Only one team per institution is permitted.

Team Composition

Each team shall consist of three members:

• Counsels: 2

• Witness: 1

Total Team Members: 3

Registration Fee

• Online Preliminary & Octa-Final Rounds: ₹3,000 per team

• Offline Advanced Rounds (Without Accommodation): ₹2,000 per team

• Offline Advanced Rounds (With Accommodation): ₹4,000 per team

Note: The registration fee is non-refundable.

Prize Details

• Winner: ₹31,000

• Runner-Up: ₹21,000

• Best Speaker: ₹3,000

• Best Witness: ₹3,000

• Best Written Submission: ₹3,000

Certificates

• All participating teams shall receive Certificates of Participation.

• Participants in the online rounds will receive e-certificates.

• Participants in the offline rounds will receive physical certificates.

Registrations through email or any other mode shall not be accepted unless expressly permitted by the organisers.
