Role Overview & Exposure
As a Legal Intern at NC Legal, you will not just be observing—you will be actively engaging in high-stakes legal work. The internship is designed to give you a comprehensive preview of litigation and corporate legal practice, focusing particularly on cutting-edge areas like the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).
Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities:
Legal Research: Utilize top-tier legal databases such as SCC Online and Manupatra to conduct exhaustive research on complex questions of law.
Drafting: Assist in drafting legal notices, pleadings, petitions, written submissions, and client opinions.
Court Proceedings: Shadow senior counsel, attend court hearings, and understand the nuances of courtroom strategy and litigation management.
Client Interactions: Gain preliminary exposure to client strategy meetings and advisory preparation.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
NC Legal is seeking disciplined, proactive, and intellectually curious candidates who thrive under pressure and are eager to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in the 4th or 5th year of a 5-year integrated LL.B. programme, OR in the 2nd or final year of a 3-year LL.B. programme.
Domain Knowledge: Preferred familiarity with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016.
Tool Mastery: Proficient in operating legal research engines like SCC Online and Manupatra.
Core Competencies: Exceptional critical thinking, legal drafting acumen, punctuality, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
Stipend & Key Details
Location: New Delhi (In-Office)
Duration: 4 weeks (October 2026), with potential extension based on performance.
Office Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.
Stipend: ₹5,000 payable upon successful completion of the internship term (performance-based extension available).
