About the Opportunity
Talekar and Associates, a distinguished legal firm based in Mumbai, is seeking ambitious, highly motivated legal professionals and students to join its litigation team. The firm is inviting applications for multiple positions, including Litigation Associates, an Associate – Briefing Counsel, and Long-Term Interns. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on courtroom exposure, refine legal drafting skills, and handle complex litigation matters.

- Litigation Associates: 2 Openings
- Associate – Briefing Counsel: 1 Opening
- Long-term Interns: 3 Openings
Key Responsibilities
For Litigation Associates:
- Draft high-quality legal pleadings, writ petitions, and court applications.
- Conduct exhaustive legal research, case analysis, and statutory interpretation.
For Associate – Briefing Counsel:
- Prepare concise, high-impact case notes and briefing briefs for senior advocates.
- Identify core legal issues and collate multi-volume case records.
- Support complex legal arguments with comprehensive statutory and case law research.
For Long-Term Interns:
- Conduct precise legal research and assist the team with practical problem-solving on active matters.
- Demonstrate high resourcefulness, proactive initiative, and prompt execution of assigned tasks.
Eligibility & Skill Requirements
- For Associates: Must hold an LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. degree. Candidates with an LL.M. degree will be given preference. Exceptional freshers with standout internship experience are also eligible.
- For Interns: Law students in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of a 5-year integrated law course, or in their final year of a 3-year LL.B. course.
- Core Competencies: Strong drafting acumen, statutory interpretation, high-level research capabilities, resourcefulness, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent written and spoken English skills. Functional proficiency in Marathi (ability to read and analyze regional court records, lower court orders, and vernacular documents) is required.
Remuneration & Work Location
Remuneration will be discussed during the interview process and will be commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. The positions are strictly on-site at the firm's office in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
