Call for Chapters: The Weight of Choice: Consumers, Competition and the Contours of Protection

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi invites original, high-quality, and unpublished research contributions for an edited volume titled “The Weight of Choice: Consumers, Competition and the Contours of Protection.” Selected contributions will be published as chapters in an accredited book bearing an ISBN.

Eligibility Criteria

• Academicians, faculty members, legal practitioners, and policy professionals.
• Research scholars and doctoral candidates.
• Undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognised universities and institutions.
• Interdisciplinary contributions from law, economics, public policy, business, and technology are welcomed.
• Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.

Themes and Sub-Themes

• Jurisdictional Overlap Between the CCPA and the CCI
• Greenwashing and the Limits of Consumer Trust
• Vulnerable Consumers: Protection Beyond the Default Adult
• Gig Workers as Consumers, Not Just Labour
• Consumer Law Beyond E-Commerce
• Class Actions and the Underused Section 35(1)(c)
• Other topics reasonably falling within the ambit of consumer protection and market regulation.

Submission Categories & Word Limits

• Articles: 5,000–6,000 words
• Short Articles: 2,500–4,000 words
• Legislative Comments: 1,500–2,500 words
• Book Reviews: 1,000–2,500 words
• Note: Word limits are inclusive of footnotes.

Formatting & Guidelines

• Font & Size: Times New Roman; Main text: 12-point; Footnotes: 10-point.
• Line Spacing: 1.5 for main text, single spacing for footnotes; Justified alignment.
• Citation Style: Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st Edition).
• File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
• All submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process. A separate cover page with author details must be submitted.

Key Dates & Timeline

• Submission Deadline: November 15, 2026
• First Phase of Acceptance: December 1, 2026
• Editorial Feedback Communication: December 25, 2026
• Final Acceptance: January 5, 2027
• Publication: February–March 2027
