Lex Commentaria Case Comment Writing Competition | Saveetha School of Law

Saveetha School of Law is hosting the Lex Commentaria Case Comment Writing Competition as part of Law Fest 2026. This offline competition offers law students a platform to hone their legal research, critical analysis, and academic writing skills under timed conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students currently pursuing undergraduate (LL.B. / B.A. LL.B. / B.B.A. LL.B., etc.) law programmes.

• Students currently pursuing postgraduate (LL.M.) law programmes.

• Participants must present their valid college identity card at the venue for verification.

Competition Guidelines & Rules

• Mode: Conducted offline at the Saveetha School of Law campus.

• Problem Release: The case problem will be released two days prior to the event date.

• Research: Participants are permitted to use their own curated research materials during preparation.

• Word Limit: 1,500 – 2,000 words.

• Time Allotted: 90 minutes.

• Authorship: Both single authorship and co-authorship are permitted.

• Restrictions: Mobile phones, smart devices, and unauthorized study materials are strictly prohibited during the event.

• Integrity: Plagiarism or malpractice will result in immediate disqualification.

• Venue: Lecture Halls LH-43 and LH-44, Saveetha School of Law

Prizes & Recognition

• Winner: ₹2,000 Cash Prize + Certificate of Merit

• Next Two Outstanding Participants: Trophies + Certificates of Merit

• Participation Certificates: Awarded to all eligible participants who complete the competition.

• Registration Fee: ₹300 per team
