The Role & Vision
Operating within a hyper-innovative tech startup ecosystem, the Legal Operations team at CoinDCX safeguards the platform’s regulatory standard and manages legal risk in an evolving landscape. This specialized role focuses on leading law enforcement agency (LEA) requests, high-volume regulatory compliance operations, debit freezes, and litigation support. You will serve as a Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) overseeing critical legal processes from end-to-end to minimize compliance risks while ensuring minimal disruption to legitimate users.
Key Responsibilities
- Debit Freeze & Lien Management: Function as the primary DRI for tracking, processing, and resolving legal holds, with direct accountability for optimizing the 'Time to Unfreeze' impacted accounts.
- Litigation Project Management: Take full ownership of the litigation lifecycle, coordinating closely with external counsel, tracking hearing dates, managing exchange of documentation, and ensuring timely filings.
- Regulatory & LEA Responses: Oversee and execute the regulatory response pipeline for incoming data and information requests from Law Enforcement Agencies with exceptional precision.
- Legal Correspondence: Lead the intake, classification, and resolution process for formal legal notices received from multiple stakeholders.
- Process Execution & Optimization: Rigorously enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lien markings and revoking freezes while identifying operational bottlenecks to streamline compliance workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the crucial legal liaison with internal teams including Compliance, Customer Operations, and Finance to execute legal holds efficiently.
- Meticulous Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed, audit-ready records of all regulatory actions, notices, and communications, delivering regular updates to senior leadership.
Who We Are Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in legal operations, litigation support, or managing high-volume regulatory compliance matters (preferably in fintech, financial services, or tech startups).
- Key Skills: Exceptional focus on accuracy and legal detail, proficiency with CRM systems and advanced spreadsheet tools (Excel/Google Sheets), and outstanding process management abilities.
- Soft Skills: Strong assertiveness combined with polite communication, deep resilience when tackling complex legal challenges, and an owner mindset.
