Working within the office of a Central Government Standing Counsel places you at the nerve center of public law, constitutional litigation, administrative disputes, and critical government representation. This role is tailored for a driven legal professional ready to dive into complex brief preparation, legal drafting, and courtroom strategy from day one.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Briefing & Case Strategy: Systematically review, analyze, and brief case files for ongoing matters before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and other judicial/quasi-judicial forums.
- Pleadings & Drafting: Draft high-quality writs, counter affidavits, applications, and legal notices on behalf of government departments and private entities.
- In-Depth Legal Research: Conduct meticulous legal research on complex statutory frameworks, precedent case law, and evolving constitutional matters.
- Courtroom Assistance: Assist Senior Counsel during court hearings, handle board calls, and actively participate in court proceedings.
Candidate Eligibility & Requirements
- Experience: 0 to 1 year of experience in litigation (fresh graduates with exceptional internship records and strong procedural knowledge are encouraged to apply).
- Analytical Rigor: Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex factual matrixes and legal doctrines.
- Research & Reading Skills: An avid reader with a deep passion for legal research and statutory interpretation.
