About Law College Dehradun

Law College Dehradun, the Faculty of Law of Uttaranchal University, was established in 2002 and is known for its contribution to legal education.

The college invites law students from across India to participate in the 10th Law College Dehradun Inter-University Moot Court Competition, providing a platform to demonstrate legal knowledge, advocacy skills, analytical reasoning and persuasive abilities.

About the 10th Inter-University Moot Court Competition 2026

The 10th Inter-University Moot Court Competition on Constitutional Law is an annual national-level moot court competition organised by the Moot Court Society of Law College Dehradun.

The competition is centred on Constitutional Law and provides law students with an opportunity to engage with complex constitutional issues while developing their legal research, memorial drafting, oral advocacy and analytical skills.

The competition has previously witnessed participation from several prominent law schools and universities. Previous winners include NUJS Kolkata, National Law University Jodhpur, Hidayatullah National Law University, Chanakya National Law University Patna, Christ (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru, Lloyd School of Law, Army Institute of Law, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law and NMIMS Chandigarh.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

• Students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree programmes from institutions recognised by the Bar Council of India.

• LL.M. students who are not enrolled as advocates.

• Only one team per institution is permitted to participate.

Theme

The moot proposition for the 10th Inter-University Moot Court Competition is based on Constitutional Law.

Participants will be required to analyse the constitutional issues arising from the moot proposition and demonstrate their understanding of constitutional principles, legal precedents and applicable statutory provisions.

Registration Fee

The competition follows a two-stage registration process.

• Pre-Memorial Registration: ₹2,000, non-refundable.

• Post-Memorial Registration: An additional ₹4,000 is payable by teams that advance to the Memorial Knockout Round.

Scheme of the Competition

The competition will begin with a Memorial Elimination Round, through which 32 teams will be selected for the oral rounds.

The competition will include:

• Memorial Elimination Round

• Researchers’ Test

• Preliminary Oral Rounds

• Quarter-Final Rounds

• Semi-Final Rounds

• Final Oral Round

The Researchers’ Test will be conducted in addition to the oral rounds.

How to Register

Interested teams must complete the pre-memorial registration process by September 10, 2026 and pay the applicable registration fee of ₹2,000.
