II KIIT International Moot Court Competition 2026

About the Competition

The II KIIT International Moot Court Competition 2026 is being organised by the Moot Court Society of KIIT School of Law. The competition aims to promote excellence in legal research, advocacy, argumentation and dispute resolution. It provides law students from India and abroad an opportunity to engage with contemporary legal issues and present arguments before distinguished members of the legal fraternity.

Moot Proposition

The moot problem is based on International Commercial Arbitration and Documentary Credits, providing participants with an opportunity to develop their research and advocacy skills in the field of commercial dispute resolution.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year law degree programmes, or comparable graduate programmes in law, subject to the eligibility requirements specified in the competition rules.

Participants must represent a recognised and accredited institution where they are enrolled.

Team Composition

Each participating team must consist of 2 to 3 members, comprising:

Important Dates

20 August 2026: Release of Moot Problem, Brochure and commencement of registration

7 September 2026: Last date for registration

7 September 2026: Last date to seek clarifications

14 September 2026: Release of clarifications

4 October 2026: Last date for memorial submission

11 October 2026: Online Preliminary Rounds

14 November 2026: Researcher's Test and Offline Advanced Rounds

The Preliminary Rounds will be conducted online, while the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final Round will be conducted as part of the offline advanced rounds.

Registration Fee

National Teams: ₹6,000

International Teams: USD 100

Registration must be completed by 7 September 2026 through the prescribed online registration form.

Prize Pool

The competition offers a total prize pool of ₹3,90,000, including:

Winning Team: ₹2,00,000

Runners-up: ₹1,00,000

Best Researcher: ₹30,000

Best Speaker: ₹30,000

Best Memorial: ₹30,000

Venue & Organising Institution

The competition is organised by KIIT School of Law, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. The institution has an established mooting culture and has hosted several national and international academic events.
